Regarding phishing attempt to retrieve @espiv.net email passwords

We noticed that in the last hours a phishing email was sent to a lot of espiv email addresses. The malicious email was inducing users to login to check for new email messages. However the link to login was in a third party server, and it was not https://mail.espiv.net. The webpage that it lead to, was identical with the login page of espiv webmail. In case somebody tried to login at this page, the malicious site would have in their possession, the credentials of this user. You should not, in any case, try to login at this site. Always check the...

For the time being though you cannot create squat.gr mails and mailing lists.[Mixed content]For some time now, the browsers have been blocking what is called “mixed content”, namely when there is http element (say a picture) on an https page, and it is a common problem on the web. How do I migrate my joomla site to espivblogs?

The migration of the content of a Joomla site becomes fairly easy by using the “FG Joomla to WordPress” plugin. The requested steps are the following:     We activate the “FG Joomla to WordPress” plugin. On the Dashboard of espivblogs we click Tools → Import → Joomla(FG). If we don’t have a blog in espiv, we make a request through the hosting form https://espiv.net/form/ We need the following data from the site’s config :        $user= ‘$dbusername’; Username$password= ‘$dbpassword’; Password$db= ‘$db_name’; Databasepublic$dbprefix = ‘$dbprefix_’; Joomla Table Prefix**    0.3. After we have filled in all of the above data, we click on “test connection”...

squat.gr and espiv.net under same administration collective

espiv.net and squat.gr are now under the same administration collective. Both groups were always in close communication exchanging knowledge/expertise and were both supporting each other by technical means. Besides the geographical adjacency, we, “people” from both groups, share the same political values, placing ourselves into the competitive/antiauthoritarian/anticapitalist movement.Recently, we decided to unify our infrastructures due to reduced people dynamics in one of the projects. From now on, a unified administration collective, cybrigade (espiv), will be responsible for both projects. At the moment, basic services that we are offering will remain as-is. However, terms of services will change to the ones...

This effort concerns both new blogs and many of the older ones hosted outside of multisite. The basic features of our site remain the same. You can submit a request for services in the same way as before: through the...

Is it possible to automatically forward my emails to other accounts?

There is no way to forward emails to other email providers, there is no such possibility, nor is it a future plan.At espiv we take the security and secrecy of communications very seriously, and we have implemented a series of features towards that direction and for the mail service that we provide, so we see no reason or usefulness in someone having an espiv email if the intend to forward it to somewhere else.Generally, it isn’t a good practice to forward the emails that we receive to other servers, since, that way, we are sending data to a third person...

Is webmail safe to manage emails collectively?

If you are using IMAP to connect to the remote server you will have the same result by using webmail. Everyone will be able to view the same folders.Webmail is not directly related to email security (On the contrary, one could say that webmail is a rather unsafe way to read emails).Email security depends on the following factors: 1. Where emails are stored 2. What form they are in / who can read them 3. How emails travel through the interneta)Using thunderbird or webmail doesn’t change something at this point. Do you trust the team that manages the server? The...
